Official Rules

Choosing players:

• Participant’s selections, both the starter and the backup, must play for New York Mets.
• If a participant cannot select their pick prior to the start of that day or night’s game, then the participant may only select one Mets player. That player must not have already received an official plate appearance or, if a pitcher, thrown a single pitch. The participant is also restricted from selecting a backup.

Awarding points:

• If a participant's starting selection is named the "Player of the game," then the participant will receive two points.
• If a participant's backup selection is named the "Player of the game," then the participant will receive one point.
• If a participant's late selection is named the "Player of the game," then the participant will receive one point.

Playoff system:

• The top eight participants, ranked by total acquired points, on September 1st, 2009 will advance to the “Player of the Game” playoffs.
• All participants, even those that are ineligible for the playoffs, can continue playing during the “Player of the Game” playoffs; however, only the eight participants that have advanced to the playoffs will receive playoff points.
• The participant with the most points in the playoffs the end of the playoffs will be crowned "Champion" and receive the grand prize(s).
• If two participants have the same Total Points by September 1st, 2008, then the participant with more points from starting picks will advance to the “Player of the Game” playoffs.
